  • Ottawa 2008

  • Back. Too lazy to upload the photos here, actually uploaded the set of photos on facebook if you want to see it. The trip was nice, but it was too rushed, too little time to do everything for such a big group of people (10+ people). I was suprised we actually hot-pot at Peggy's...we needed it too since it was so cold on Saturday. Ottawa much more older then I expected. I thought there would be some parts of the city where there might be newer buildings, but it seems that everywhere needs some restructuring. This trip was a nice break from Toronto.

  • Off to Ottawa.

  • Busy and sometimes slow week. PSS-ing (pissing, hehe) next 2 weeks, so I'll be out doing inspections. Looking forward to this weekend in Ottawa. Hopefully I'll have some nice pictures from the trip. Also looking forward to the 2008 Autoshow.

  • Cleaned my room today. I thought I need to clean my room to bring in a good new year. Hopefully it will be better then last year's.

    Cleaned my desk.

  • Learned how to re-string the guitar today. Thanks Carmen. Just glad nothing is broken. Still learning how to tune a guitar by ear though. I need more practice.

My aunt just came back from a trip to San Francisco, she saw a pair of twins walking down the street and thought they looked cute together. I agree.

  • Nothing much happened this week, except for the fact that there was a big snow storm on Friday. It was better then I expected. I thought there would be more accidents, but lucky the roads were quite clear as many people opt to stay home.

Willie, our infamous groundhog did not see his shadow today, so possibly a short winter. Lets just hope that is true, too bad it doesn't say anything about how hot the summer is going to get.

  • Went to Niagara Falls today. It was a spare of the moment thing. Doris and I got into the car and kinda just started driving. First we thought maybe yorkdale, then square one, then we just thought, what the hay, lets go to the Falls. It was good, the only thing to complain about was that it was snowing, so everything was wet and cloudy and that I washed my car yesterday (took 30 minutes to lineup for carwash) and now it's black again.

The highway, arriving at niagara, a ferris wheel in the middle of downtown.

Wolfgang Puck restaurant, heading up to Lakesview Casino.

Red light, took a picture of the fire hydrant. It's suppose to be PINK. I was trying to take a picture of the sign for the Casino, just outside of the entrance.

Inside the main entrance, the water fountain. Second picture is a suppose to be a real-life version of a snow globe, if you go up to it there's actually real people inside who will pose for you.

USA's side of the Horseshoe Falls. The big water treatment (very old) building.

I got out of the car to try and take a picture of the fall, it was cold and snowing. Like always, lots of mist, the first picture is the running falls (see the railing? there's ice on it, there's actually ice on the ground as well). The second picture is of the lake, it's all white, chunks of floating ice.

Eva's phone, Doris' phone. Haha I feel like I'm comparing cameras here.

Doris' mocha malt shake. Mine is rootbeer float.

Eva's: Route 66, kinda like a sloppy joe's. Doris': Chilli fries, a bit too salty, even for Doris.

The cafe we ate at, very 30's feel. A miniature Jukebox on the table that works, but I don't know how to use it.

(all photos taken by our cellphones, please bear with the quality, some were taken inside the car while it was moving)

  • I talked to my manager today. It's official, my last month of work for City of Toronto is April. After that, I'll be FREE.

  • Sigh. So the letter of appeal did not work.

    What to do...

Honestly, it would be nice to have a break.

Would it be irresponsible for me to live on unemployment until I'm ready again?

Should I further educate myself, and if I do, should I try to stay "in the field" or try something totally different and take my chances there?
